Principal Notes 10.1.2015
Another exciting year has started at Johnson-Brock and it is great to see everyone come together as a team to provide the best educational opportunities for our students! Our “team” consists of staff, students, parents, community members, and all other stakeholders who have an interest in the school. We are off to a positive start and it is hard to believe that we have almost finished the first quarter.
As I visit classrooms, I am proud of the teaching and learning that is occurring. We are fortunate to have such a dedicated teaching staff that put in the extra-time to help students as needed. I am amazed at the number of staff members who do not blink an eye about staying after hours or coming in early just to be there for students. There is a lot of learning taking place in our building as evidenced by the projects displayed in the hallways and classrooms. Support staff have also played a key role in ensuring a successful start to the year. Secretaries, para-professionals, food service personnel, custodians, and bus drivers have made a point to help students in need, prepare highly nutritious meals, ensure the building and grounds look nice, and transport your students to and from school safely. It has truly been a team effort all the way around!
I would also like to express gratitude toward the parents, community members, and businesses that help to keep our school going strong. I have had the opportunity to meet and talk with many parents this year and they are very supportive of the programs, initiatives, and ideas that are helping their students become successful. Parents play a major role in the educational process and their input is extremely valuable. As I travel to activities, it is great to see so many community members in attendance watching the students perform. The students truly appreciate your willingness to come support them as much as possible. The business owners have graciously supported school fundraisers and have been key players in providing educational opportunities for our students; whether it be monetary donations for field trips, or even just a small snack to be shared as a reward. I am proud to be a part of an educational community that takes pride in the school system and works together as a TEAM to ensure its continued success!
