Principal Notes 8.29.16
The 2016-2017 school year is off and running! It is always exciting to have students and staff back in the building after what seemed like a very short summer. The first week and half of school has moved along rather smoothly. As the hustle and bustle of the fall season begins to take charge, please continue to remind your child(ren) of consistently meeting the high expectations of Johnson-Brock Public Schools!
The next time you are in the building, be sure to take a look at the new ACT & Valedictorian/Salutatorian boards in the main high school hallway. The ACT board recognizes those students who have earned at least a composite score of 30 on their ACT. In the coming days, I will be positing a document on the website showing our five year trend of ACT scores. The Valedictorian/Salutatorian board recognizes those individuals who received class honors during their time at Johnson-Brock. Each of these boards are great additions to the school.
This year, the science department will be offering a new service to patrons. We have three telescopes that are available to be checked out for student and community use. If you are interested in utilizing one of the telescopes, contact Mr. Leuenberger at the school. Mr. Leuenberger’s classes are also heavily involved in recycling. If you have items that could be recycled, please consider contacting the science department.
From time to time this year, I plan to create video messages and post them to the school website under the principal page. Feel free to access those to learn more about the events that are occurring throughout the year. Good luck to our fall sports teams and student organizations as they begin their competitions and events!
