Johnson-Brock Staff, Students, and Community:

My family and I are pleased to have the opportunity to serve you as PreK-12 Building Principal.  It is evident you all take great pride in the success of your school!  We are very excited to be joining the excellent staff, student body, and community.  I would like to take this time to introduce you to my family and provide a background of my educational career.

After graduating from B&B High School in Baileyville, KS, I attended Kansas State University; majoring in secondary education-business.  I later received a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction through Peru State College and am currently working towards a doctorate degree in educational leadership at Kansas State.  I am a lifelong learner and am always interested in new research or ideas regarding education.  I began my teaching career in a temporary position at Manhattan High School and later took a position closer to home in Bern, KS.  After three years as a business teacher and coach at Bern, I accepted a similar position at Axtell, KS.  While at Axtell, I taught business for three years, was assistant principal for one year, and was the PreK-12 principal for one year.  The 2017-2018 school year will be my 3rd year as Principal at Johnson-Brock.  I will also be in my 2nd year as the head boys basketball coach.

In addition to my teaching duties, I have had many opportunities to sponsor and coach a variety of student activities.  My coaching experience includes:  head high school boys basketball, junior high football, junior high basketball, and junior high track.  Additionally, I have sponsored student council, yearbook, forensics, National Honor Society, FBLA, and scholars bowl.  I have also served on many building and district-level committees and curriculum groups.

My wife, Leah, has operated an in-home daycare for the past eight years.  She also enjoys completing embroidery and craft activities.  We have been blessed with four wonderful children.  Camden and Casen are twin boys in the 5th grade.  Our daughter Bristol is five and will be in Kindergarten this year.  The baby of our family, Tierney, begins 3-year-old preschool this year.  We enjoy participating in and watching our children’s activities whenever possible.  My family has been and will continue to be very supportive of school events and activities.

Throughout my educational career, I have found that a successful school is built upon trust, communication, and relationships.  Working together, we can all create a positive environment that continues to enhance the educational opportunities of Johnson-Brock Public Schools.  We are very excited to join the Johnson-Brock family!
