I have my dream job!  I am fortunate enough to spend my days of teaching high school students about history, government, economics, psychology, sociology and life in general.  I have been involved in the writing of the civics standards for the State of Nebraska and have worked with the Center for Civic Education for a number of years. Both of these experiences have given me many opportunities to expand my knowledge of civics and history.

The National History Day program is a passion for me as well.  I feel honored to have worked with so many wonderful young historians over my tenure here at Johnson-Brock.  To watch a student’s passion for history come alive as they research and share their knowledge is a bonus to an already wonderful job.

My passion for history includes being a volunteer for the Nemaha Valley Museum in Auburn, Nebraska.  It is with great pride I have seen students from Johnson-Brock literally tear down walls by working with people from across southeast Nebraska to preserve local history.  I also enjoy sharing my knowledge of Johnson history with anyone who will listen, and learning more about my community from anyone willing to teach me.

I was born and raised in southeast Nebraska.  I live on the family farm with my husband Jeff, where we raised our three daughters Dani, Jordan, and Michelle.  I truly love spending time with my three grandchildren, Weston, Reid, and LilaBelle.   I take every opportunity to travel around the country and around the world, to learn more about history, geography, and the people that make this world such an amazingly diverse place.
