My name is Rhonda L. Johnson. I teach 7-12 Art and am the Senior Class Sponsor. This will be my 17th year teaching at Johnson-Brock.
I was born and raised in Centerville, Iowa. I received an Associate of Arts degree from Indian Hills Community College in 1981 and continued my education in Studio Art at Northeast Missouri State University (now Truman State College). In 1997, I graduated from Peru State College with an endorsement K-12 Art Education, and received my Masters in 2008.
In 1987, I married my husband Brent Johnson at the Stone Church in Nemaha County, Nebraska. Brent worked at Magnolia Metal in Auburn, Nebraska, until 1990 when he was diagnosed with brain cancer. He passed away in 1991 at 27yrs of age. Thankfully, we were blessed with our only child in 1990, Chelsea.
Chelsea graduated from Johnson-Brock in 2009, and went on to attend Nebraska Wesleyan University. She was named a Truman Scholar in 2012, and graduated with a degree in Political Science in 2013. She is currently working at the Nebraska League of Conservation Voters.
My interests include genealogy, gardening, photography, reading, home improvement and travel.
