A reminder about youth suicide…

NCSA is proud to partner with Mr. Jay Martin, Director, NDE School Safety and Security, and our friends at the University of Nebraska Public Policy Center to provide this important message.

Suicide is the second leading cause of death for youth in Nebraska. We have already lost too many youths to suicide. Spring months signal the end of the school year and enhanced suicide risk for many young people. During this time be on the lookout for youth in your school who may:

Need increased mental health support,
Struggle with feelings of uncertainty,
Feel disconnected, isolated, and lonely, and/or
Be personally impacted by world events.

Here are links to resources that support your Districts suicide prevention efforts during the stressful lead-up to the end of the school year.
